BATA HISTORY
The Bemidji Area Tennis Association (BATA) was created in the spring of 2004. A small group of local tennis enthusiasts organized with a mission "To promote and develop the growth of tennis in the Bemidji area."
• Became a tax exempt 501 (c)(3) organization as recognized by the US Internal Revenue Service and the Minnesota Department of Revenue in 2004.
• Maintains a database with over 200 local tennis players.
• Sponsors: several junior programs, group lessons, individual lessons, clinics, several adult doubles leagues, etc.
• Sponsors USPTA & USPTR certified teaching professionals.
WHAT IS BATA ?
• B.A.T.A. is a non-profit community tennis association affiliated with the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
• It exists "To promote and develop the growth of tennis in the Bemidji area."
• B.A.T.A. supports and if necessary organizes and / or coordinates Bemidji area tennis activities including: kids programs, adult programs, adult leagues, tournaments, lessons, family play, etc.
WHO IS BATA?
• A group of tennis enthusiasts and supporters.
WHAT WILL BATA DO FOR ME?
• Introduce you to the life long sport of tennis.
• Introduce you to adult tennis leagues.
• Introduce you to other local tennis players.
• Help obtain a USTA rating.
• Help you find someone to string your racket.
• Set you up with a USPTA certified trainer for private or group lessons.
• Provide information on tennis court locations.
• Provide tennis opportunities for all ages and skill levels.
